Welcome to the Mary E Starkweather Tent #1 DUVCW
Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, 1861-1865
Are you a descendant of a Union Soldier
of the Civil War?
The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, 1861-1865 is the only Civil War lineal descent woman’s organization recognized and endorsed by the Grand Army of the Republic.
Organized on May 30, 1885 and incorporated on December 12, 1885 in Massillon, Ohio, it is the oldest and largest of all Civil War American Women’s organizations genealogically based on lineal descent.
Every woman who is descended from a Union Veteran will welcome the opportunity to preserve her Civil War heritage for posterity, while honoring and revering her Civil War ancestry by joining this Order.
We are dedicated to preserving the history of the Civil War and its Union defenders as well as providing assistance to present day veterans and our communities. In the process, we also enjoy associations with our members in our meetings and activities. Our members primarily live in the five county Twin City Metro and Rochester areas.
We hope you will join us in the rich experience which membership in Daughters of Union Veterans, Mary E Starkweather Tent #1 provides.
