MMARC's annual Holiday Party is held in December at a local area restaurant. The 2025 Holiday Dinner Party was held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 5 PM to 9 PM at the Olive Grove Restaurant & Lounge, 705 Hammonds Ferry Road, Linthicum, MD 21090.
The cost of the 2025 dinner was $35 per person or $70 per couple. Payments were made at the Sept, Oct or Nov club meetings or one of the Saturday Social Breakfasts. Payments were made by cash or by check (payable to the Maryland Mobileers ARC).
If members could not attend any of these club meetings or breakfasts, they could pay by check (payable to Maryland Mobileers ARC), or through Zelle (if your bank or credit union allows), or through your Bank Bill Pay, or a Money Order. Members would mailed their check (not cash), their Money Order, or their Bank Bill Pay to the club's mailing address at:
Maryland Mobileers, PO Box 935, Severn, MD 21144-0935
If members wanted to attend the Holiday Dinner Party, the Club's Treasurer had to have their payment no later than Friday, November 28th. Sorry, No Exceptions! The Treasurer must provide the number of people attending the dinner to the Olive Grove management by the 1st week of December.
At the restaurant on Saturday, December 13, 2025, the party started with a "Meet & Greet" which includes free non-alcoholic drinks or a cash bar for cocktails. Dinner began with an assortment of cheeses with deluxe crackers, fresh fruit, vegetables, and dip. Next was a fresh salad and homemade breadsticks. Also included with the dinners were a baked potato, a vegetable, soft drinks, coffee, tea, and a desert station. For Vegetarians or Gluten Free menus, the guests asked the server at the dinner for a regular dinner menu. The dinner was a choice of one entrée per guest from the following special menu:
Chicken Italiano with Shrimp
10 oz. New York Strip Steak
Fresh Atlantic Salmon
Shrimp New Orleans
Single Crab Cake (9 oz.)
Lasagna
After dinner, there was the usually gift exchange. Those who wished to participate in the gift exchange brought a wrapped gift worth approximately $20 to $25. It did not have to be Amateur Radio related. But no gag gifts were allowed.
Near the end of the party, there were a number of door prizes that both club members and guests can win, except for the top prize. Only club members were eligible for the top prize, which in recent years has been a handheld transceiver or a mobile radio.
