From September 2023-January 2024, I worked as a marketing intern for JMU Duke Club, James Madison University's fundraising arm for varsity athletics. As an intern, I sharpened my skills in website creation, graphic design, ambassador programs, newsletter copywriting, research, and event operations. I also networked with JMU alumni and fundraising members working club level operations during home football games. My favorite part of the internship was helping with ESPN College Gameday in November when they visited JMU for the third time.
My main responsibility during these 5 months was to help establish the first ever Diggin Dukes campaign. This campaign's goal was to have 24 hour fundraising for the 18 varsity sports programs. My role specifically required creating the graphics and logo for the ambassador program. I also used SurveyMonkey responses to create blog posts and graphics to recognize JMU alumni donors. I wrote and designed the layout for weekly emails sent to the ambassadors to incentivize posting leading up to the giving day as well.
