Many students quit playing the piano after learning for a few years and one of the main reason for that is wrong posture. The way the student sits as well as uses his/her fingers, wrists, hand position, arms, shoulders and body ensures that he/she is comfortable and able to produce wonderful music.
In our normal life, we have all faced back pain when we sit in an uncomfortable chair or sleep in an awkward position. Just imagine what a budding pianist faces when he/she has to sit for a few hours and stroke the keys. As the pieces get harder, incorrect posture means excruciating pain in the wrists and back, no wonder the student decides to quit this torture.
Here at Maryana's Piano Studio, right from the beginning emphasis is put on ensuring the posture is correct and the student is able to enjoy making music, without enduring the pain.
