Alan Bond, PhD

Alan is working on growth, survival, and spawning characteristics of Atlantic Sturgeon in the Altamaha, Ogeechee, and Savannah Rivers in Georgia. 

Savannah Perry, MS

Savannah is working on movement and habitat use of Lake Sturgeon in the Coosa Rive system in Northwest Georgia

Hunter Rider, MS

Hunter is working on population dynamics of Shortnose Sturgeon throughout coastal rivers of Georgia. He is also studying life history characteristics of long-lived native fishes in Georgia. 

Joseph Nolan, MS

Joey is examining migratory behavior of Atlantic and Shortnose Sturgeon natal to rivers of coastal Georgia. 

Victoria Davis, Research Technician

Victoria graduated with her MS from my lab in fall of 2023 where she worked on examining population dynamics and diet of introduced Blue Catfish in various river systems in Georgia. Victoria is employed full time to work on the Known-Age Fish Project; an online repository and educational tool of known-age fish structures from fishes of North America. 

David Higginbotham, Research Professional III

David has worked with fisheries faculty for the last 30 years. He currently splits his time between my lab and Dr. Adam Fox. David is instrumental in coordinating projects, managing project personnel, and providing assitance to graduate students.

Past Graduate Students

Matt Phillips, MS

Matt recently completed his MS degree in spring of 2024. Matt's research was examining population dynamics and demographics of reintroduced Lake Sturgeon in the Coosa River, Georgia. Matt currently works as a biologist for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Joel Yeager, MS

Joel finished his MS in summer of 2022. Joel's thesis work was examining movement dynamics, habitat use, and angler exploitation of Suwannee Bass in Georgia. Joel is currently a PhD student at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Jackson Glomb, MS

Jackson defended his MS thesis in spring of 2022 where he worked on assessing hydrilla occurrence and subsequent impacts on the sportfish community in Lake Sinclair, Georgia. Jackson is currently working as a research professional for the University of Illinois.

Jacob Werner, MS

Jake finished his MS degree in fall 2020. Jake's research was examining population demographics, distribution, and environmental history of Asian Carp in the Kansas River. Jake is currently a fisheries biologist for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

Quintin Dean, MS

Quintin finished his MS in fall of 2020. His project was determining population characteristics and movement of Blue Catfish in the Kansas River. Quintin is currently a fisheries biologist for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. 

Caleb Uerling, MS

Caleb finished his MS in the fall of 2017. His research was examining fish and macroinvertebrate response to restored off-channel habitats on the lower Platte River in Nebraska. Caleb is currently a fisheries biologist with the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks.
