- How do you find your heart rate?
- Locate pulse on neck or wrist.
- Once located, count the beats for 15 seconds.
- Multiply the number of beats by four to get your heart rate.
- The heart, veins and arteries are the circulatory system, "roads" which carry blood away (arteries) from the heart and to (veins) the heart.
- Three levels of workout intensity:
- Light- easiest (could be walking, or yoga)
- Moderate- medium (could be jogging for 10 minutes, or running around the playground)
- Vigorous- hardest (swimming for an hour, a 5K, biking for an extended period of time, weight lifting).
- Your heart rate helps determine what level of intensity you are working out at!
