  • How do you find your heart rate?
  1. Locate pulse on neck or wrist.
  2. Once located, count the beats for 15 seconds.
  3. Multiply the number of beats by four to get your heart rate.

  • The heart, veins and arteries are the circulatory system, "roads" which carry blood away (arteries) from the heart and to (veins) the heart.

  • Three levels of workout intensity:
  1. Light- easiest (could be walking, or yoga)
  2. Moderate- medium (could be jogging for 10 minutes, or running around the playground)
  3. Vigorous- hardest (swimming for an hour, a 5K, biking for an extended period of time, weight lifting).

  • Your heart rate helps determine what level of intensity you are working out at!
