Events

The Marlboro Alliance supports a number of events throughout the year to bring our community members together.  Town Meeting Lunch in March, the Summer Sale in July, and the Marlboro Fair in September are just a few of the annual events we organize.  In past years, we also organized special celebrations for our town such as for Storm Irene Recovery and our Bicenquinquagenary anniversary.

65th Summer Benefit Sale

All proceeds from the sale benefit the Marlboro Alliance General Fund.

When? Saturday, July 27 from 9am to 3pm and Sunday, July 28 from 9am to 1 pm (all remaining items will be free on Sunday from 11am to 1 pm, though we will continue to appreciate financial contributions).

Where? At the Marlboro School, located at 2669 VT-9 in Marlboro, VT. The sale will be outdoors under tents and in the School’s Outback (a.k.a. the gym).

What treasures might you find? Household items, furniture, books, and good quality used clothing for children, women and men waiting for new homes. And, on Saturday only you’ll also find home baked goods, homemade snacks, and beverages for sale.

How do you donate items? Please consider donating your good quality, clean and usable items to the sale. Items can be dropped off at the sale location on Friday, July 26, from 9am to 3pm. Volunteers will screen donations. Please read the complete donation guidelines below before bringing your items in for donation.

Volunteer and help make the sale a Big Success! Volunteering at the sale is fun! Bring a friend or come solo and make some new friends!  Teenagers can receive community service credit for volunteering at the sale. We’ll need volunteers on Friday, July 26 from 8:30am-3:30 pm for donation drop off day, as well as on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28 from 8:30am-4pm. Donation Guidelines

To ensure that only saleable items are donated, please be prepared to review your items with a Sale volunteer before leaving them with us. This review will happen in a clearly marked location either in the parking lot, or at the bottom of the driveway. Disposing of left-over items on Sunday is a lot of work for volunteers, and expensive for the Marlboro Alliance. We deeply appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us to make sure donated items are as likely as possible to end up in a happy new home.

We ACCEPT clean and usable: clothing; household goods; furniture (you must be willing to leave your contact information and agree to collect the item on Sunday after 4 pm if it does not sell); tools; children’s games/toys (in very good shape with all the pieces only) ; some electronics (less than two years old and fully functional OR antique/special interest); some books (no travel, cookbooks or textbooks can be accepted).

We prefer NOT TO ACCEPT:
