Surrealism

 DaDA: The Surrealist Palette. I love the subconscious, what our dreams are telling us.  All the things we were thinking but were afraid to ask. I don't use paint, I fight dirty with logic and reasoning. 

These are all done prior to Artificial Intelligence. They were all painstakingly made using masking, the old-fashioned method of taking out an unwanted area, and bringing in a new piece on a single piece of film ( in the old days ) or digital image, seamlessly. This is technically hard to do without anyone seeing it. This is done not to deceive, yet to allow our imaginations to let go, and not stubbornly look at the edge and wonder what was done so badly  ? 

I live in the undercurrent of thought—the subconscious tide that sweeps through our dreams, carrying the strange fragments of what we really think but never say. I paint not with colors, but with the raw pigments of curiosity and confession. The hidden questions. The things we are too polite, too afraid, or too conditioned to ask. There is a full catalogue.

In the spirit of DaDA, I embrace the chaos and contradiction. I throw precision against absurdity, reason against the implosible, until something honest emerges. The Surrealist Palette isn’t about representation—it’s about revelation. Dreams don’t obey perspective. They bend. They distort. They whisper their riddles in images that confound, but lodge in the mind like a splinter until they demand interpretation.

These were all made from 2011 through 2022. They began as a rebellion,  for working on Madison Avenue for so long. In my Redemption.  I wanted to tell the opposite side of corporate madness, or use the same slick photographic techniques to tell another side of the same story, how we can mislead people. It is a powerful medium, but one few could embrace. How far could I take them ? Long before AI.
