Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 13, 2026
This policy explains how Marjoram handles information. The developer identified on Marjoram’s App Store listing (“we,” “us”) is responsible for the app. You can contact us at nbamans@atomicmail.io.
1. Recipes and imported content
Marjoram stores the content you choose to add, including recipes, source links, selected photos and documents, collections, meal plans, and grocery lists. This information is used to provide the app’s features and is stored on your device.
Recipe extraction from text, photos, and PDF files runs on your device. The current version does not send your recipes, photos, or documents to an external AI service. You do not need to create a separate Marjoram account.
2. Website imports
When you import a web link, the app contacts the source website and may download recipe images. These requests expose your IP address and standard network request information to the websites contacted. Those websites handle requests under their own privacy policies.
3. iCloud sync
When iCloud sync is active, your library and associated data are stored in your private iCloud database to synchronize across your devices. Apple processes this information to provide iCloud. Its handling of your Apple Account and iCloud services is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.
4. Purchases
Apple processes subscriptions and payments. Marjoram uses purchase and subscription status information supplied by Apple to unlock paid features and restore purchases. We do not receive your payment card details.
5. Optional usage analytics
Usage analytics is off by default. If you enable it in Settings, the app records feature interactions, subscription-related events, app version, major operating system version, device category, and a randomly generated installation identifier. These records are intended to help understand feature usage. In the current version, they remain on your device and are not transmitted to an analytics service.
Analytics records exclude recipe text, photos, documents, source URLs, and clipboard content. Turning analytics off removes the locally stored analytics events and analytics identifier. Marjoram does not use advertising trackers or sell your personal information.
6. Support messages
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include. We use it to respond and resolve your request. Our email provider processes this correspondence to deliver and store messages. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle the request and any related legal obligations. Avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for support.
7. Retention, deletion, and your choices
Your library remains on your device, and in iCloud when sync is active, until you remove it. You can edit or delete recipes and export your library in the app. To remove local app data, delete the app using iOS Settings. Offloading the app keeps its documents and data.
Deleting the app does not automatically remove iCloud data, device backups, or files you have exported. Manage iCloud storage and backups through your Apple Account settings and remove exported files from wherever you saved them. Turn analytics off before deleting the app to also remove its analytics identifier.
You can manage app permissions in iOS Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information we hold, or to object to or restrict its use. Email us to make a request or ask for help. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
8. Security and children’s privacy
Marjoram uses iOS storage protections and HTTPS for web imports. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. Marjoram is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them through support. Contact us if you believe a child has sent us personal information.
9. This website and policy updates
These legal pages contain no analytics scripts, advertising, or cookies. The hosting provider may process standard connection information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the website.
We may update this policy when the app or our data practices change. The latest version and update date will appear here. We will provide additional notice or request consent where required.
