Threats to the Mangroves

The Mangrove Swmaps are some of the endangered habitats in all of the world. Most of what is left is severely damaged. There are many causes of this, but one that affects the habitat the most is excessive shrimp farming.

The excessive shrimp farming is the biggest cause of destroying the Mangrove habitats. This is not mostly because of the killing of shrimp, it is mostly because of the acts that the farmers go to. They dig up channels that cause the flow of water to redirect and the flow. This kills trees because they are not able to access freshwater supplies. The farmers also put a lot of chemicals and pesticides in the water that also kills trees. The farmers are the main cause of the destruction of the Mangroves and they will not be around soon if these acts keep happening.
