Sessions

I offer short (6-12 sessions) and long term (open ended) counselling.

I usually meet with both parent and young person for the initial session. Here we can discuss what brings you to counselling and my approach. I will be able to assess your needs and expectations, to see whether counselling is right for you and to give you an opportunity to ask questions.

Should you wish to proceed, then we will arrange to meet at the same time and on the same day each week. I suggest for 5 more sessions initially, so that you may get a sense of the work and that we have the opportunity to get to know each other. We will review the work together and plan either to continue in an open-ended way, to meet for a further limited number of sessions or end. Some young people may only want a few sessions, others longer.

I work in the best interests of the young person and will always hold in mind how few sessions we can have to achieve a good enough outcome. This obviously depends on the individual and will be tailored to your needs.

I can offer daytime and after school sessions. I also work on a Sunday morning.

Sessions last for 50 minutes.
