While Marilyn only recently joined the Camas-Washougal Lions Club (shown here volunteering at the Community Garden downtown), she was a member of Camas-Washougal Rotary and has served our community in various capacities for the last 35 years. Marilyn consider service to our community not only a right, but a responsibility.
Marilyn was a member of the Downtown Visioning Committee (DVC) from 2001-2009. The lofty goals and ideals of that fledgling group have come to fruition as the Downtown Camas Association, which became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2009. This status allows Marilyn to support the development and vitality of Downtown Camas. Marilyn was the Camas School District Liaison 2010-2012, rejoined the board as a citizen 2017-2021, became the City Council Liaison 2022-23, and now serves as the DCA President, participating in planning and conducting events such as First Friday, Downtown Holidays, the Plant and Garden Fair, and other downtown events.
