Questions you need to ask your employee
4/27/23
5) “Of the people who have previously held this position, where have they progressed to in their careers?”
I chose this question because it is always good to know what you can gain from the place of work. Having a little background of the skills and experience previous workers have gained can help me understand more about the position and what I need to work on. Asking this question is also a way to figure out if the position is fit for me. I would like to know if I can gain more skills as well as progress when working. I believe that it can help me be better as an employee as I continue to pursue my career in the industry.
7) “How would you describe the company's culture?”
I would ask this question because I would want to know the type of environment I will be working in. I personally think this is the most important question to ask. I would wonder how the vibe is like in the work place as well as the people I will be working with. I would not want to work in an environment where other employees are not as welcoming as when they first meet new employees.
9. “What have past employees done to succeed in this position?”
I would ask this question because knowing what past employees have done to succeed while working in the position is a way to get me to think about what I would need to do to improve on my work skills. It gives pointers on what I should expect when working. The good experiences as well as the bad are things that can get me to gain knowledge on what I can do to avoid being fired or putting too much pressure on myself when something goes wrong. It gives me better vision of what can happen in the position. I can learn from past employees mistakes and have a better experience.
10. If you’re being interviewed by the owner of a business, here’s one you want to ask: “Where do you see yourself and this company in five years?”
Knowing the mindset the owner has of the business can show if they plan on having a successful business or if they are doing it for the money. For example, why work for someone who does not care or know where they see themselves and their business as the years pass? Owners should know what they want to be doing with their business in five years. Knowing these things can help me think about where I would see myself after gaining skills and experience. People as well as myself would want to make sure it is the right job as a first time employee.
