Mar 2021 – Jul 2022 – Lund, Sweden
UNIVERSITY RESEARCH ASSISTANT – LUND UNIVERSITY
Continued work on Bachelor thesis project exploring the role of climate drivers, management and age structure in tree mortality using a different version of the process-based vegetation model LPJ-GUESS. The study was published as a research letter in the journal Environmental Research Letters in October 2022 titled Increased Central European forest mortality explained by higher harvest rates driven by enhanced productivity.
Jun 2021 – Jul 2021 – Lüneburg, Germany
FIELD ASSISTANT – LEUPHANA UNIVERSITY
IAESTE internship to assist a project of the POEM research group (PriOrity Effect Mechanisms) investigating the plant order of arrival effects on ecosystem processes. Sampled and processed field data, including soil core sampling, root washing and sorting, biomass harvest, sampling of species individuals for DNA extraction and LAI measurements.
Jan 2020 – Jun 2021 – Lund, Sweden
UNIVERSITY RESEARCH ASSISTANT – LUND UNIVERSITY
Processing soil samples and tree litter samples from a Swedish spruce forest for the Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS) Research Station Hyltemossa, Sweden, ensuring adherence to the ICOS protocols and standards.
Jun 2019 –Aug 2019 – Hyltemossa, Sweden
FIELD ASSISTANT – ICOS HYLTEMOSSA
Assisted in various measurements related to ecosystem-atmosphere interactions in a spruce forest. Those included measuring LAI, sampling biomass, sorting litter and soil samples and measuring soil gas fluxes with chambers. Also conducted BVOC measurements to evaluate the effect of bark beetles on spruce trees for a PhD thesis.
