In a commendable effort to promote environmental awareness and community involvement, the 9th week of the Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program witnessed a dedicated coastal cleanup activity along the picturesque coastline of Sitio Maybalon and Sitio Bulihan in Barangay Maricaban, Tingloy, Batangas. The event, which took place this morning, March 7, 2024, saw the active participation of 19 individuals, including eight barangay officials.
The coastal cleanup initiative aimed to address the growing environmental concerns in the area, focusing on the shoreline of Sitio Maybalon and Sitio Bulihan. The 19 participants, comprising both community members and barangay officials, worked tirelessly to remove accumulated waste and debris, contributing to the preservation of the coastal ecosystem.
The cleanup activity not only showcased the community's commitment to environmental stewardship but also highlighted the importance of collaboration between residents and local leaders. FEBRUARY 21, 2024 - Community Unites for Successful Road Clearing and Cleanup Drive in Barangay Maricaban, Tingloy, Batangas on it's 7th Week Compliance to the Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program of the DILG.
In a remarkable display of community spirit and commitment to cleanliness, the Sangguniang Barangay of Barangay Maricaban, in coordination with dedicated barangay volunteers and community members, conducted a highly successful Road Clearing and Cleanup Drive. The event, held in Sitio Ibabaw, showcased the power of collaboration in fostering a cleaner and safer environment for everyone.
A total of 22 individuals actively participated in the initiative, with notable involvement from 9 barangay functionaries who lent their time and effort to the cause. FEBRUARY 17, 2024 - Barangay Maricaban, Tingloy, Batangas on it's 6th Week Compliance to the Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program of the DILG.
In a remarkable display of community collaboration and civic responsibility, Barangay Maricaban successfully executed a clean-up and road clearing operation yesterday, February 17, 2024. The initiative, spearheaded by the dynamic Punong Barangay Hon. Virgilito S. Manalo, showcased the unwavering commitment of Sangguniang Barangay Members, the Barangay Secretary, Barangay Treasurer, Barangay Volunteers, and dedicated community members.
The transformative activity kicked off at 7 AM, starting from the front gate of Marikaban Elementary School and extending all the way to the upland of Sitio Ibaba. The four-hour operation aimed to address environmental concerns, enhance public spaces, and promote a cleaner and more organized barangay.
Punong Barangay Hon. Virgilito S. Manalo, recognized for his energetic and hands-on leadership style, actively participated in the clean-up alongside Sangguniang Barangay Members, emphasizing the importance of leading by example. We are thrilled to share the vibrant spirit and active involvement of our dedicated Barangay officials in the recently concluded Barangay Newly Elected Officials for GREAT Barangays Program - Basic Orientation Seminar held at the prestigious Batangas Country Club in Barangay Bolbok, Batangas City from February 8 to 10, 2024.
Our dedicated Punong Barangay, Sangguniang Barangay Kagawads, Barangay Secretary, and Barangay Treasurer, along with the heads of our invaluable Barangay Health Workers, Public Safety Officers, Barangay Nutrition Scholar, Child Development Worker, and Lupong Tagapamayapa, showcased their unwavering commitment and enthusiasm throughout the comprehensive orientation.
This program, designed to equip our Barangay leaders with essential knowledge and skills, saw an incredible exchange of ideas and insights. Our officials actively participated in discussions, workshops, and team-building activities, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration.

On the vibrant morning of February 6, 2024, the Barangay Maricaban, under the dynamic leadership of Punong Barangay Virgilito S. Manalo, spearheaded the impactful "Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas" program from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM. This community-driven initiative was an exemplary display of unity and commitment to fostering a cleaner and greener environment.
The event witnessed active participation from the Sangguniang Barangay members, dedicated barangay volunteers, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (MDRRM) Officer along with his staff, and a commendable number of community members. JANUARY 25, 2024 - 3th Week Compliance to Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program - Coastal Cleanup at Sitio Sampalukan
READ. We are thrilled to share the fantastic results of our Coastal Clean-Up activity held along the beautiful coastline of Barangay Maricaban on January 25, 2024. A total of 113 passionate individuals came together for this important cause, including ten dedicated barangay officials, personnel from the Municipal DRRM Office, Coast Guard Sub Station, Tingloy Municipal Police Station, and our invaluable partners from Pure Oceans Inc. This event also signifies our commitment to the protection of our environment and adherence to the call of the Department of Interior and Local Government's program, the Kanilisan sa Bagong Pilipinas.
Together, we gathered an impressive 683.032 kilograms of coastal wastes! This wouldn't have been possible without the 220 garbage sacks generously provided by Pure Oceans Inc.
🚚 The collected wastes have been responsibly transported to the Material Recovery Facility located in Sitio Ilaya of our barangay, ensuring proper disposal and contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.

Your collective effort has made a significant difference, and we look forward to more initiatives that will continue to keep our coastline pristine. JANUARY 18, 2024 - 1st Quarterly Meeting of Barangay Based Institutions
READ. The 1st quarterly meeting of Barangay Maricaban's various barangay-based institutions served as a crucial platform for collaboration and coordination. These Barangay Based Institutions, having undergone accreditation in accordance with DILG Memorandums 2018-146 and 2022-124, demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high standards of governance and community service.
This meeting held last January 18, 2024 offered a structured forum for representatives from the accredited organizations including the Senior Citizen's Association represented by Mr. Rodante Manalo, the Batangas Varsitarian represented by Mr. Sherwin Fernando, Parents-Teachers Association represented by Mr. Dalemark Maravilla, Pure Oceans Inc. represented by Ms. Laivhe Manalo, and the Catholic Chapel Pastoral Council represented by Mrs. Ma. Divina Gracia M. Saguid.
In collaboration with these dedicated community leaders, the discussion thoroughly went deep on pertinent issues. They share updates on projects and initiatives, and strategize collectively for the holistic development of Barangay Maricaban.
This proactive approach ensures a cohesive and well-coordinated effort among the institutions, fostering a sense of unity and efficiency in addressing the needs of the community.
JANUARY 18, 2024 - Barangay Maricaban is now a beneficiary of the Eh Di Wow Kitchenwares! Thanks to Pure Oceans Inc.
As part of the Linis Islas initiative, Pure Oceans Inc. has generously provided the Barangay with a range of sustainable kitchenware essentials! From beautiful ceramic plates to recycled drinking glasses, sturdy metal spoons and forks, to elegant serving trays – these items are more than just utilities; they are a step towards a greener, cleaner future. All of these items were personally delivered to the Barangay Hall last January 18, 2024 by Mr. Eddi Ajos., the project lead coordinator of Pure Oceans Inc. for Tingloy, Batangas.
The Sangguniang Barangay, under the leadership of Punong Barangay Virgilito S. Manalo, enthusiastically embraced this initiative, recognizing its significance in creating a sustainable and eco-conscious community. These eco-friendly kitchenwares are now available to the residents of Barangay Maricaban at an unbelievably minimal cost aiming not only to meet your needs for special occasions but, more importantly, to encourage the community to shift away from single-use and disposable kitchenware, promoting a zero-waste island. 🛒💚
JANUARY 6, 2024 - Community Wide Coastal Cleanup in adherance to Kalinisan sa Buong Pilipinas program of the DILG
The Coastal Cleanup Program conducted on January 6, 2024, in Barangay Maricaban, Tingloy, Batangas, under the leadership of Punong Barangay Virgilito S. Manalo, marked a significant collaboration between the local government and the private sector. In partnership with PureOceans, a notable social enterprise, and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) through its flagship initiative, Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas, the program aimed to address environmental concerns and foster community engagement. The event witnessed an impressive and active participation of one hundred twenty eight (128) individuals from various segments of the community, including newly elected and appointive officials, barangay volunteers, members of barangay-based organizations, beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, and other enthusiastic community members. The Coastal Cleanup Program aimed not only to enhance the physical cleanliness of the coastal areas but also to instill a sense of environmental responsibility and community pride among the participants. In a remarkable display of community spirit and collaboration, the Sangguniang Barangay, in partnership with the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and dedicated community members, successfully concluded a road clearing operation on December 10, 2024. The initiative, led by the esteemed Punong Barangay Virgilito S. Manalo and supported by the Sangguniang Barangay officials, aimed to enhance the accessibility and safety of local roadways. The synchronized efforts of the participants reflected a strong sense of unity and shared responsibility towards the betterment of the barangay.
