Barangay Budget

The 20% Development Fund of Barangay Maricaban is a mandated allocation from the annual Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) or National Tax Allotment (NTA) specifically set aside for development projects that promote social and economic growth within the community.

This fund, equivalent to 20% of the barangay's total IRA/NTA, is intended for programs and infrastructure that directly benefit the residents, such as health services, education, public safety, environmental protection, and local economic initiatives. The utilization of this fund is governed by guidelines to ensure transparency and effectiveness in addressing the developmental needs of the barangay.

The 10% Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Fund is a dedicated portion of Barangay Maricaban's annual budget, earmarked specifically for youth development programs and activities.

This fund, constituting 10% of the barangay's general fund, is managed by the SK, the youth council tasked with representing the interests of young people in the community. The SK Fund supports initiatives such as leadership training, sports and recreational activities, educational programs, and community service projects, all aimed at empowering the youth and fostering their active participation in local governance and community development.

The 5% Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (LDRRMF) of Barangay Maricaban is a specific allocation from the barangay's annual budget designated for disaster risk reduction and management activities. 

This fund, equivalent to 5% of the barangay's estimated revenue from regular sources, is used to finance programs, projects, and activities that enhance the community's resilience and preparedness for disasters. The LDRRMF covers a range of initiatives, including disaster prevention and mitigation, emergency response, recovery, and rehabilitation efforts. The 5% Gender and Development (GAD) Fund of Barangay Maricaban is a mandated budgetary allocation aimed at promoting gender equality and empowering women within the community. 

This fund, which represents 5% of the barangay's annual budget, is dedicated to implementing programs, projects, and activities that address gender issues and support the needs and rights of all genders, particularly focusing on women's empowerment and protection. The GAD Fund supports initiatives such as gender sensitivity training, women's health services, livelihood programs for women, anti-violence campaigns, and efforts to increase women's participation in local governance. Through the effective utilization of the GAD Fund, Barangay Maricaban strives to create a more inclusive and equitable community.

The 1% Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) Fund of Barangay Maricaban is a dedicated portion of the barangay's annual budget set aside to ensure the welfare and protection of children in the community. This fund, comprising 1% of the barangay's total budget, supports initiatives and activities aimed at safeguarding children's rights and promoting their well-being. The BCPC Fund finances programs such as child protection services, health and nutrition projects, educational support, and activities that prevent child abuse, exploitation, and neglect. By allocating this fund, Barangay Maricaban underscores its commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment for its young residents, fostering their development and safeguarding their future.

The 1% Senior Citizen and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Fund of Barangay Maricaban is a specific budget allocation aimed at supporting and enhancing the quality of life for senior citizens and individuals with disabilities within the community. This fund, which constitutes 1% of the barangay's annual budget, is utilized to finance programs, services, and activities that cater to the needs and rights of these groups. Initiatives supported by this fund include health and wellness programs, accessibility improvements, social and recreational activities, and financial assistance.
