We are thrilled to share with you the highlights of our recently concluded 10th Regular Meeting of the Sangguniang Barangay last April 20, 2024, at around 2 o'clock in the afternoon! One of the key agenda points was the preparation for the much-awaited implementation of the rehabilitation and improvement project for the public road in Sitio Ibaba. This project, particularly focusing on the steep road connecting to and from the barangay proper and the upper land portion owned by the late Mr. Amado Villarica's family, holds significant importance for our community. With great pride, we announce that this project will be funded out of the 20% Development Fund, a testament to our commitment to the continuous enhancement of our barangay infrastructure. The Sangguniang Barangay has diligently recommended this project for Public Bidding, marking the first step towards its realization. We eagerly anticipate the implementation phase once the notice to proceed is given to the winning contractor. The road in Sitio Ibaba has long been known to be slippery, especially during wet conditions, posing a serious threat to motorcycle riders and pedestrians alike. With the full support and unanimous agreement of our Sangguniang Barangay kagawads, our Punong Barangay is determined to enhance and widen this road to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in our community. Furthermore, upon the completion of this project, the remaining funds in the 20% Development Fund will be allocated towards the construction and improvement of the road in Sitio Bulihan

Sharing with you the success of our recent coastal cleanup held last April 20, 2024, at Sitio Sampalukan as part of the 15th week implementation of the Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program initiated by the DILG. With the combined efforts of 27 enthusiastic individuals, including 10 dedicated barangay officials, we made a significant impact on preserving the beauty of our coastal environment. Starting bright and early at 7AM, our team rolled up their sleeves and tirelessly picked up litter and debris along the shoreline. Despite the challenges, their commitment never wavered. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, we completed the cleanup by 10AM, leaving Sitio Sampalukan looking cleaner and more pristine than ever before.

We are thrilled to share the accomplishments of our Barangay under the steadfast leadership of Punong Barangay Virgilito "Gil" S. Manalo in the 13th week (March 31 - April 6, 2024) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government's flagship program, "Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas". Last April 6, 2024, our Barangay proudly hosted another successful compliance activity, where a total of 50 dedicated participants came together to contribute to the cleanliness and welfare of our community. Among these participants were 10 barangay officials and the invaluable beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, whose support and enthusiasm are truly commendable. This week's initiative focused on the meticulous cleaning and improvement efforts in Sitio Ibabaw and Maybalon, ensuring that every corner of our Barangay reflects the spirit of cleanliness and progress. Together, we worked tirelessly to maintain our surroundings and create a more vibrant, healthy environment for all residents.

On the auspicious occasion of March 23, 2024, the multipurpose covered court of Barangay San Juan, Tingloy, Batangas, radiated with warmth and enthusiasm as the community gathered to witness a significant event—the payout of scholarships for college and senior high school students. Spearheaded by the esteemed Congresswoman Atty. Gerville "Jinky Bitrics" R. Luistro of the 2nd Congressional District of Batangas, this initiative not only provided educational opportunities but also symbolized a commitment to the advancement of the youth in Barangay Maricaban and beyond.

Among the notable figures present were Punong Barangay Virgilito "Gil" S. Manalo and Kagawad Bernardo "Bernie" M. Beginning at 7 AM, the initiative, in alignment with the Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas program of the Department of Interior and Local Government, saw active participation from 17 individuals, including 9 barangay officials. The team's efforts yielded commendable results as they successfully collected 4 sacks of recyclable wastes and an estimated 8 sacks of biodegradable wastes, primarily consisting of dried leaves along the barangay road of Sitio Ibaba.

Additionally, an estimated 8 sacks filled with biodegradable wastes, predominantly dried leaves, were diligently collected, further contributing to the enhancement of the barangay's cleanliness and aesthetics.

Barangay Maricaban in Tingloy, Batangas, saw an impressive turnout at the Fire Safety and Prevention Symposium held yesterday, March 17, 2024. Spearheaded by Punong Barangay Virgilito S. Manalo, with the unwavering support of Barangay Kagawads and dedicated volunteers, the event aimed to equip the community with essential knowledge and practices to prevent and manage fire incidents effectively.

The symposium commenced at around 9 in the morning, attracting a significant number of residents, including Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials. Highlighting the event was the presence of BFP Fire Marshall, FO2 Alberto C. Alaer, who served as the resource speaker.

FO2 Alaer captivated the audience with his expertise and engaging presentation, covering vital topics on fire safety and prevention. Under the expert guidance of Mr. Herbert Dumaoal, the Basics of Microsoft Excel were explored, preparing our Barangay Health Workers, Child Development Workers, and Barangay Nutrition Scholars for the upcoming registry update.

The session focused on equipping our frontliners with fundamental computer skills, crucial in today's tech-driven landscape. Attendees delved into the world of data organization, learned essential Excel formulas, and discovered the art of presenting information through graphs and charts. Mr. Dumaoal's mentorship was instrumental, emphasizing the significance of basic computer skills and introducing the concept of a computer-aided database system for barangay data and other essential information.
