Principles of Microeconomics (Summer 2018)
"She is one of the best, if not the best, professors I have had in college!"
Principles of Macroeconomics (Spring 2019)
"She made me love macroeconomics!"
"Our girl Margaret was a very good professor and she helped us learn economics by making the concepts simple enough to make sense."
Urban Economics (Fall 2019)
"The lectures were very informative and highly helpful with explaining the content in the readings. The class structure supported discussion with Professor Bock leading, and the class would be very active in these conversations which spurs questions and knowledge. It was easily my favorite class."
"The reading journals were good because it made me interpret the material in my own way and formulate my own opinions."
"What helped me learn the most in this course would be the active discussions that incorporated all students thoughts and questions rather than strictly lecture based. I also thoroughly enjoyed how Margaret chose interesting, and very relevant problems and topics to learn about in class. It made the more boring economic material more vivid and easier to understand."
"The powerpoints and guided lecture by Ms. Bock were the most useful tool for learning. I really loved how Margaret taught this course. She held her own in a class of 90% 'finance bros' and really promoted a great environment for discussion and thought–provoking lessons on urban economics."
Principles of Microeconomics (Spring 2020)
"The lectures and slides were helpful, neat, and always succinct and on topic. The problem sets and study guides were useful for studying and helped prepare for the exams. The transition to online due to COVID was also pretty seamless and handled well as the YouTube channel was helpful for digesting the content while the discussion boards kept the interactivity and thought provoking nature of in person lecture."
"I thought [Bock] did a great job and I'm even going to switch to an economics major. Thank you."
"Ms. Bock was super organized and professional throughout the semester. She provided very useful material to help her students succeed in her class. I always felt very prepared in her class due to her PowerPoints, review sessions, study guides, and office hours. I once went to her office hours for help and she was so kind and helpful. She even made the transition onto online classes perfect. I don't think I can think of a single complaint for her."
"The way that Bock set up the class was fantastic and made learning easy. The lessons flowed well and she did a great job of explaining things. It is obvious that she devoted a lot of time to planning this class."
"I cannot emphasize enough how fantastic Bock was. It is clear that she has a passion for economic and truly cares about her students."
