2023 Seed Grant Program
The Office of the SVPR is pleased to announce the 2023 Seed Grant Program. After discussion with faculty and their feedback, we have changed eligibility criteria and extended the submission deadline. As in previous years, applications are solicited for 3 tracks. Changes to eligibility criteria are listed below, especially for applications submitted for Track 3, which we hope will result in greater volume of faculty submissions. The submission deadline has been extended to April 19th, 2023.
Modification of Track 3 to include a single PI option.
The requirement for at least one of the MPls to have funding within the past three years to be eligible has been removed.
A PI or MPI team can submit only ONE application. A second application for another track is not allowed.
We anticipate making 10 awards in total, across all tracks (for a total expenditure of up to $400,000). For details about changes to the eligibility, application process, forms, funding terms and selection criteria, please visit the Office of the SVPR/Initiatives webpage. Three tracks for the 2023 Program, with modifications described above are listed below.
Track 1: Projects focused on health equity or health disparities (as described by NIH NIMHD) from individuals or teams of DHSU faculty investigators.
Track 2: Projects with focus on Digital Health. Digital health is defined broadly as information and communications technologies in medicine and other health professions to manage illness, health risks and promote wellness (as defined in a book titled Digital Health), also from individuals or teams of faculty investigators.
Track 3: Projects in any area from a single PI or teams (two or more) of DHSU faculty investigators.
