Siluria was founded in the southern hills by a lumber company, but the community's identity came to maturity during World War II when the U.S. military purchased a significant amount of land near the town to build an air force training base. Today, the neighborhood still has strong ties to the military.

The entire region mobilizes its industries to assist the war effort, with a new local railroad line looping through the region with cargo stations at the airport in Siluria, Reed Station, Hamilton, and Hunter Crossing. Simultaneously, a local passenger rail line loops the region with passenger stations at Harrison, Port Murray, Florence, Pawnee, Reed Station, Jackson, Hamilton, Carsten, and Hunter Crossing.
