1960 Election

In the 1960 election, the incumbent mayor faced only token opposition from his Democratic opponent. Mayor Price based his re-election on continuing his plan to revitalize downtown, releasing a plan to build 7 new high-speed roads connecting downtown to the largest towns in the neighborhood (see the bottom of this page). This plan was enough to easily secure re-election with over 60% of the vote.
