We are proud to announce that our project, “Bio-Inspired Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Propellers,” has received the Gold Award at the Research and Innovation Symposium and Exhibition (RISE) 2025, organized by Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia.

This project explores the integration of bio-inspired aerodynamic modifications to enhance the aerodynamic efficiency and reduce noise emissions from UAV propellers.

What makes this innovation unique is the application of psychoacoustic analysis, focusing not only on noise levels but also on how the sound is perceived by humans evaluating parameters such as loudness, tonality, roughness, and fluctuation strength. This human-centered approach is crucial for developing quieter drones suitable for urban air mobility, delivery systems, and environmental monitoring.

The project contributes to Malaysia’s aerospace R&D goals and supports global priorities under the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 9 (Industry & Innovation) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities).
