I am Mohammad Arafat, a passionate researcher specializing in aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and aeroacoustics. Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), where my research focuses on bio-inspired UAV propellers, exploring their aerodynamic performance, noise generation mechanisms, and structural interactions through high-fidelity CFD simulations and wind tunnel experiments.
With a Master of Engineering Technology by Research from UTHM, I have also worked extensively on the aerodynamic behavior of next-generation high-speed trains under transient crosswind conditions. My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Telkom University, where I applied multi-objective optimization techniques to improve energy efficiency and machining processes.
Over the years, I have authored 20+ peer-reviewed articles and book chapters indexed in Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus, assisted in securing over RM230,000 in research funding, and received multiple international research awards. My expertise extends to experimental aerodynamics, structural analysis, and psychoacoustic assessments, with hands-on experience in wind tunnel testing, CFD modeling, and flow visualization techniques.
Beyond research, I have been actively involved in mentoring students, training university lecturers in CFD simulations, and collaborating on multidisciplinary projects. My technical proficiency includes ANSYS Fluent, StarCCM+, MATLAB, and SolidWorks, among other computational tools.
My future research goals focus on fluid-structure interactions, propulsion systems, and renewable energy solutions, particularly in advancing floating wind turbines and sustainable aerospace technologies. I am always eager to collaborate on innovative projects that push the boundaries of engineering, energy, and environmental sustainability.
