Due to recent events surrounding the Monroeville Public Library's "love is love" display, MAPCA received a surge of hateful messages and comments via social media. The MAPCA board has made the decision to enhance our security measures which includes a limited police presence at Monroeville Pride. We recognize that not all members of the LGBTQIA community will agree with this decision. However, as the organizers of the event, the safety of our volunteers, vendors, performers, and patrons, is our highest priority. 

Thanks to the generosity of donors and volunteers from within Monroeville, the greater Pittsburgh area, and even out of state, security for Monroeville Pride is unmatched! Both uniformed and plainclothes law enforcement will be present, along with security personnel from within the LGBTQIA community. 

There will be several picnic tables as well as bench seating for eating and watching the performances. We strongly encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs, blankets, or towels for additional seating. 

Permanent restrooms are located across the parking lot, and "port-o-janes" are available within the parking lot. Period products and other hygiene products will be available for bathrooms of all genders. 

Parking, including wheelchair-accessible spots, will be available at the event. There will be several signs, and a parking attendant, as well as signage and balloons to help guide you to the right location. Please note that vendor parking (aside from wheelchair accessible spots) will be in a level, but grassy field next to the venue. Please plan accordingly. 

Volunteers will be working a First Aid tent for any patrons in need of basic first aid (bandaids, ice packs, etc). There will be a cooling tent with a misting fan and plenty of ice cold water near first aid, as well as an additional cooling area behind the main stage for anyone experiencing symptoms of overheating. Monroeville Fire Department #4 will also be providing medic patrols in the event of an emergency.
