Special Education
The registration period typically takes place at the end of January and early February. However, parents may register their child(ren) at any time in one of our schools as long as they meet the ETSB criteria for enrolment.
The registration process for all students is the same, regardless of if they have special needs.
However, during the registration process, it is important that the school team be made aware of your child's profile to ensure that their needs can be met. Without this information, there may be delays in putting necessary measures in place.
The following information should be shared with the school team upon registration:
Does your child have a medical condition(s)?
Does your child have a disability that could impact their academic and school success?
Has your child been assessed by a professional?
By whom?
For what reason?
If a report could help the school organize services for the child, it is important to share it with the team.
Is your child on a waiting list to be assessed?
Any other pertinent information
Collaboration with Parents
The MES school team values our partnership between parents and staff. Your insights into your child's strengths, challenges, and preferences are essential in effectively supporting and meeting their needs. We encourage open communication and collaboration to ensure the best possible learning experience for every student.
Unsure of what information is pertinent to share with your child's school? Here are two forms, one in English and one in French, that can support you.
Nous vous suggérons de consulter et remplir ce formulaire ci-dessous afin de partager toutes informations pertinentes avec la future équipe scolaire de votre enfant.
We would recommend you fill out the form below to share any pertinent information on your child before their school entry.
