Nowadays, the traditional cooking of Manok Pansuh is a dish during the Gawai festival season or at any cultural events. Manok Pansuh has also been made into a menu for selling stalls or in restaurants in Sarawak.
Manok Pansuh is a type of traditional food among the Iban community in Sarawak. Manok means chicken and pansuh means cooking in bamboo. Thus, Manok Pansuh is a chicken recipe cooked in bamboo. Manok Pansuh is suitable to be eaten with white rice or eaten alone.
Some places still cook Manok Pansuh using the traditional way. However, most communities in urban areas now rarely use bamboo as the main ingredient in the cooking process of Manok Pansuh.
