What is Information Literacy?
Information literacy refers to the ability to access a viriety of information which is needed for the task in hand.
Information literacy in the 21st century
We are currently living in an era where information is just one google search away so it is essential that learners are trained on how to access and evaluate information worthwhile information. Furthermore, it is important to teach critical information literacy to the learners not just focus on student aquisition of skill but also encourage critical and discursive approach which allows the learners to take charge of their own learning. Eamon T (2015) further attested that in the 21st century learners have to become active agents in the flow of information by asking and answering questions which are of value to them and the world around.

Critical pedagogy for Critical information literacy
The traditional approach of teacher transferring knowledge to learners like a tap filling empty vassals of with water has to be replaced by a constructivist approach. Learners have to construct their own knowledge and teacher should be mediator between the learner and information. This way learners can be more innovative in generating ideas of their own and learn for mastery which can help learners to use solve complex problems on their everyday lives and the world around them (Eamon T, 2015)
