There are too many to possibly share .. but will do a few.
I may have lost my mayoral race with Mr Gray, but we have had at least one chat at city hall and he did autograph my peace pontiac.
I was attending a water conservation event at the university where a few mayors of the okanagan and some first nation chiefs were also in attendance. I had already given Mayor Gray a heads up i would be asking for his "auto" graph on the peace pontiac... Mayor Baker from Lake country also signed it. Mr Cannon was there but had signed it already. — with Fort Socs
Former Mayor Shepherd was at a "CATCH" (community action towards childrens health) event that i also attended. — with Sharon Shepherd.
This was a bday ride that had paid my business to come out and visit.. but we always tried to do extra . I figured i should share one of these memories. "Smiles every mile" is always a goal- inspired by Magic and quite probably Roy Rogers "Happy Trails"
Ki-low-na youth came out a few times over the years. This was Jan 25th, 2014 and was our 2nd official meeting with that group at the stables. I had put in a picture caption of this: Looking forward to many more while they become part of our earn your ride and peace thru tourism programs. Been doing the one for decades now and the other for a couple of years. So excited to work with a group of older teens and young adults with program leaders
that are as keen as I am!
HOPE outreach had fairly regular outings to my business over the years, to hang out. This was a time that i hung out at their house. Beautiful people. I have made some lifelong friendships.
This was from earlier in 2019 at Ancient Hills Winery. So much fun listening to this great performer! I am very lucky he let me wear his hat for the picture. — with Pat Ryan. He is a former world champion curler and amazing musician. He was raising funds for the community food bank. He mentioned how many people pay a lot of money to hear musicians that will leave the valley with most of that income. It is so important to fund local musicians who are more likely to keep it in the valley. He is a world champion for more than curling!
I am not sure what event this was at, but it is at House of Rose Winery. They regularly do music events and have a wonderful setting for them (and great wine too!)
I am with a couple of friends here that live in the Okanagan but who are originally from Newfoundland. I am sorry to say that my friend Brad, in the middle, passed away in March of this year of a heart attack. He was such a great person. Peace is priceless and my peace park goals will help prolong life . Stress is a major cause of heart disease and Cancers yet so little investment and education are on the value of peace. My bother had passed 2 weeks before he had. I have aimed to be a big sister to his younger cousin Nadine.
This is Charming and I.. he used to regularly go to senior homes before he passed on.. i would later take my rabbits too. They brought great joy and memories to people (bringing good spirits to us too!)
