Citizens Patrol is a generic name used by many to describe a special group of Law Enforcement Volunteers. Citizens Patrol volunteers are Citizens who, after being screened, background checked, and trained by their local law enforcement agency, patrol their communities acting as "Eyes and Ears" for law enforcement.
The Mandan Park Citizen Patrol is a member of the Omaha Coalition of Citizen Patrols (OCCP). The Omaha Coalition of Citizen Patrols (OCCP) is comprised of trained citizen volunteers organized into separate patrols, Mandan Park Citizen patrol contains members from two older nonexistent neighborhood associations. These Omaha Coalition of Citizen Patrols (OCCP) currently operate in approximately 35 neighborhoods throughout Omaha and the surrounding metropolitan area.
