You will find a range of teaching and learning methods within the British academic system. Most courses will offer a blend of formal lectures and small group teaching in seminar and/or tutorial format.
The University of Manchester uses a standards-based approach by assessing the performance of students against a pre-determined set of learning outcomes and standards.
Methods of assessment vary from three-hour written exams to 100% continuous assessment.
Some courses may be assessed by a mixture of written exam papers and assessed essays/coursework.
You’ll be fully integrated onto courses and will be expected to follow the same assessments as British students.
