With the theme of 'ClimaQuest,' it really enabled a whole new perspective and a rush of ideas for our climate (and fun experiments!). How do you spend your time in the fair?
Ready to channel your inner scientist? The Science Fair at CMULHS is the place to do it! Every September, this eagerly awaited event, organized by the Young Thinkers Science Club (YTSC), transforms the school into a hub of scientific excitement.
At the fair, we will find lots of activities that celebrate science in all its glory. Students showcase a dazzling array of experiments, turning the hall into a veritable lab of discovery. But that’s not all! You can also catch dance and singing competitions where participants creatively link their performances to the relevance of science in today’s world. It’s a unique blend of art and science that keeps everyone on their toes.
One of the highlights is the scientist impersonation segment, which not only entertains but also expands our understanding of the scientists who paved the way for modern advancements. It’s a fantastic way to learn while having a blast, and it truly brings the subject to life.
These interactive activities spark excitement and curiosity, making us all look forward to the next science fair with great anticipation. Events like these are what make CMULAB so much fun. We’re not just enjoying ourselves; we’re also soaking up knowledge and unleashing the brilliance of our fellow students. Every presentation shines with creativity and passion, ensuring that each fair is not justuccessful but unforgettable!
August has once again brought the much-anticipated Buwan ng Wika event to life, filling our campus with a palpable sense of ‘Filipino pride. Bandaritas adorn every corner, creating a festive atmosphere that sets the stage for celebration. Students, dressed as elegant ‘binibinis’ in stunning filipiniana-inspired outfits, are ready to strut their stuff and showcase their best traditional Filipino attire.
One of the most thrilling aspects of Buwan ng Wika is the vibrant energy surrounding the day’s activities. Students eagerly place their bets on who will be crowned Lakambini and Lakandula in the highly anticipated pageant. I was personally nominated to join the pageant, and let me tell you, the excitement is real! But honestly, who could compete against our reigning Lakambini? I can barely lift my feet without taking up the entire floor!
As the day unfolds, the stage buzzes with passionate singers competing for the top title, captivating the audience with every note. Meanwhile, the Indak dances add to the excitement, dazzling everyone with their dynamic routines and creative flair. With the energy infectious, every twist and turn keeps the crowd on the edge of their seats with who could possibly score the best! If you happened to see me roaring my heart out in the audience for the Grade 11’s dance entry? Well, let’s just say you didn’t!
The day comes to a joyful end as students dive into our very own ‘Laro ng Lahi,’ a special moment during the day dedicated to playing beloved traditional childhood games set up around the court. It’s a delightful trip down memory lane, reminding us of simpler times when our biggest worries were dodging scoldings for getting too dirty and memorising multiplication tables. I can’t say less, it was tough stuff! I mean, what a throwback am I right? This is such a special experience that only happens once a year! Let’s make the most of it and count down the days until next Buwan ng Wika.
