On joining cubs your child will be placed in a group called a "six" where other like minded cubs will work together in activities and challenges. By placing our youth in groups we promote positive relationships and let our youth expand their leadership skills. Cubs promote positive choices, both in their personal life but also in the community and also gives them the key skills to be change makers in their community. Cubs will get the opportunity to challenge themselves, explore new things, make new friends and experience the life of being a cub.
Cubs live by the scout promise which outlines what they want to do and is used as a guideline for planning meetings and activities.
"On My Honour I Promise To Do My Best"
"To Develop My Spiritual Beliefs"
"To Contribute To My Community, Country, And World"
"To Help Other People"
"And To Live By The Scout Law"
What do cubs actually do?
The cub programme is similar to the kea programme but with more emphasis put on the youth taking a step up and becoming leaders themselves. They will be a voice in helping to plan the weekly meetings and will get to take part in outdoor skills activities. Camping and adventures outside the den will also start to take place and become a regular part of the programme.
