A few years ago, one of my advisors shared advice with me. He said there are three kinds of people in the world... and you should be aware of what kind of people you allow in your life... and who you look to for advice. Three Kinds of People...
1. WISE PEOPLE:Wise people seek the counsel of people wiser than themselves. This starts by recognizing that you are not the wisest person on earth... and then seeking the counsel of wise people who live good, honorable lives... and care enough about you to tell you the truth, even if it may be difficult to do. Wise people have a desire to help others become a better version of themselves. Once you find wise people, listen to their advice and make positive change in your life based on what they tell you. Be careful to not make excuses and justify why you won't make the right, wise choice. Constantly learn and grow from other wise people.
2. FOOLISH PEOPLE:Foolish people surround themselves with, so called 'friends', who help them justify poor decisions in their life. This type of 'friend' helps you make excuses, and justify doing whatever makes you 'feel good' in the moment. They care more about you liking them than they do about seeing you make wise, honorable decisions. They really don't stand for anything. All they want from you is for you to help them feel good and justified about their own bad decisions. They change like the wind. And, this type of 'friend' will not be there for you when your poor decisions turn into bad results in your life. They will also reject you when you offer them wise counsel... and they will throw your poor choices from the past in your face to bring you back down to their level. They are foolish... and if you hang out with them, you are too.
3. Evil People: Evil people seek to bring you down. They are constantly negative, manipulative, and destructive. The only way to deal with evil people in your life is to STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THEM AS YOU CAN. You are not strong enough to change them... and any time spent with them will contribute to your destruction. STAY AWAY!
My goal is to always strive to gain wisdom by seeking wise counsel... Below are pictures of those I trust for wise counsel in my life. I am so grateful for these wonderful people.

Psalm 1:1-6Blessed is the man who walks NOT in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; ...
