My name is Caoimhe Matassa and I was born an artist. My interest in art really began about the age of four when my Nonno (grand-father) began to teach me to paint. My interest in tattooing spiked when I discovered my first tattoo tv-program and though they are now the very programs I laugh at for being just so unrealistic, they are the reason I discovered my love for tattoos. I’m in love with art, always have been.
Tattooing is a way to make the very thing I love last forever.
One of my favourite tattoo artists’ is Yogi Barrett. The vibrancy and playfulness he manages to achieve within his realism is something I will always admire. Another favourite of mine is Lea Nahon because her style is unlike any I’ve seen before, beautifully unique. My favourite style of tattooing is realism and is a style I one day hope to leave my mark on. From this apprenticeship I hope to become the tattoo artist I know I have the ability to be, to work my way from old school to realism and everything in between.
