Ist for age group 13-17 in 5K Long Island marathon, 2019. Timing 24.20 minutes.

My goal for 2020 is a 6 min. mile pace

Midway on my first 1 miler as a 6 year old, I was screaming "I am going to die" so loudly that it alarmed some people. My dad was by my side. Over time, I did longer races. My first 5k was when I was 8 years old. My legs were burning, I was hot, and thirsty, but I pushed myself to keep running. Gradually, I became used to running 5k's. In 2015, I won the 1st place prize on Long Island (Bib 5028) for 5K in my age group. Small acts of persistence like this have taught me the joys of success. It has also taught me the importance of raising my standards. After continuing with 5k races for some more years, I started to feel comfortable with running that distance, so I raise my standards. As a challenge, I registered for the 10 mile Broad Street Run in Philadelphia, which I ran alongside my parents. The race was approximately 3 times the distance of my typical 5k, and while running, I had a flashback to the time I was 8-year old running my first 5k. Knowing the fruits of success, I urged myself to keep running. Fast forward about 1 hour and 35 minutes, I was at the finish line, crossing the end with joy. Looking back, I think I could have done even better with more training. Running has taught me the importance of being able to control my mind.

I have run the 25K greenbelt trail which is a cross country very steep through the woods of North shore on Long Island with a timing of 3 hours 25 mins.
