My name is Angelea Collins and I am a senior at the Corning-Painted Post High School. I have started a mask-making project to support our local front-line workers. My project, called "Making Masks, Supporting Heroes", is my CAS project for the International Baccalaureate Diploma program. Personally, helping those in need is a very important aspect that I wanted my project to be centered around. After hearing about the desperate need for masks over and over again on the news, I felt the need to help! I am looking for any volunteers who are willing to make protective masks to support our local front line workers as well as my project. If you are interested, please look through this website. It has all the information about my project and detailed information about how to make a mask.
My goal is to collect 1000 masks. I have been working with the superintendent of Corning- Painted Post school district, Mike Ginalski, as well as, All Saints Academy’s principal, TJ Verzillo, to help spread the word about my project. More recently, I have also teamed up with Andrea Lynch, Community Foundation President and Kristine Dale, Corning Incorporated’s United Way Director, to reach out to an even greater audience. With all of your help, along with the generous volunteers around the community, I believe, together, we can exceed this goal!
Thank you, in advance, to all of you who are willing to help me with my community project.
