Soft Goods
Keely on the MMCC forums has put together an excellent guide that is worth checking out: Soft Goods 101
Your soft parts are basically everything that you wear that ISN’T armor. While the armor and helmet may be the most exciting part for most, it’s often a good idea to get your soft goods nailed down first before you work on the hard parts of your kit. The way your flight suit and vest fit will affect how your plates lay, so having that figured out from the start is a huge help! This is especially important for individuals with a more “curvy” body type.
Soft parts will vary based on your personal design. Here are the items we recommend you have.
Main soft parts:
Flight suit - (either one piece or two)
Flak vest - (this is what you attach your chest armor to)
Two waist items - typically an ammo belt and a girth belt
Gloves - For modern kits you may wear full or half fingered gloves. No open backs or logos. Sturdier gloves are recommended.
Be sure to remove any company/manufacturer logos, brand names, labels, etc.
