I have always been intrigued by the diversity of nature and all the unique characteristics of creatures within it. Biomimicry has been used by designer to create astounding designs; they range from using the shape of bird beaks for high speed trains in Japan to reduce noise pollution from them to Velcro being inspired by the hooks of the Burr plant. I particularly appreciate the work of the fashion designer Iris Van Herpen who is known for her ethereal designs that mimic forms in nature.
