Maine Lightning teams are organized by birth year in accordance with Soccer Maine and the Maine State Premier League. Each team has an age-appropriate focus that maximizes player development.
State Teams
Training twice a week starting in December.
College recruiting seminar for high school-aged teams.
Tournaments (2) in March & May.
Reduced rate on strength, conditioning, & injury prevention program with Beyond Strength Maine.
Maine State Premier League for the spring.
Optional extra: tryout to go to USYS Regional tournament in June - the Presidents’ Cup for 2024.
Our U23 team trains once a week starting in late June and participates in local friendlies and a regional summer tournament (other participating clubs are Rosevelt SC, Kennedy Park FC, Seacoast United, and local men's open teams).
Cost
Player fees do not include the cost of uniforms. We ask for a financial commitment upfront as Maine Lightning Soccer Club must pay fees such as player registrations, leagues, tournaments, facility costs, and other necessary operational costs.Â

2010 & 2011: $2,100
2012 through 2016: $1,900

We have applied to the New England Club Soccer League (NECSL) for the spring but also have alternative plans combing MSPL & friendlies/another league around Northern New England.
