Tournament Logistics

Tournament events will take place in two separate locations on the USM campus in Gorham: the Warren Hill Gymnasium (47 Campus Avenue) and Bailey Hall (16 University Way). The distance between the two buildings will require advance planning, particularly if a student(s) is participating in an event such as Wright Stuff that will be held in the gym and in another event that will take place in Bailey Hall. An different type of logistical issue will be in delivering equipment, particularly if it needs to be impounded, at the gym and team members to Bailey Hall in time for opening ceremonies. For these reasons, teams should arrive well in advance of the start time for opening ceremonies. For teams or coaches who are unfamiliar with the campus it would be advisable to make a visit to USM prior to the day of the tournament.

Within Bailey Hall, events will take place on five floors: Bailey 10 (auditorium) accessible from the basement and the first floor and classrooms/labs on floors 1-4. No maps of Bailey Hall are available on campus. However, with great effort, we have been able to obtain plans for each floor. Printing copies for your team may be useful as hallways are not always well marked and some are not easily navigated. On the day of competition, directional signs will be posted in hallways their permanence throughout the day is not guaranteed. It is advisable to arrive early enough on the day of the competition to settle into the team's home space and for students to locate where their events will be taking place.

An event schedule with room numbers and home space will be available soon after the registration deadline (Presidents Day, Feb. 18). Please be sure to register soon and to have your registration fee in by the deadline!
