Pope In Lebanon
As a part of his first apostolic journey after his election, Pope Leo visited Lebanon on 30 November 2025, his visit was mainly focused on the theme of "peace" as a message because of the ongoing war and conflict that was going on and still in the region, and that Lebanon was a part of it. Pope Leo arrived and met firstly the President of the Lebanese Republic "Joseph Aoun", followed by holding meetings with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament "Nabih Berri" and the Prime Minister "Nawaf Salam". Lebanon is a known country with his religious diversity, and Christianity represents one of the country's identity and history, the pope's visited on the second day the tomb of Saint "Charbel Makhlouf" in the Monastery of Saint "Maroun" in "Annaya", and the Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon in "Harrisa". And on his last day the Pope had led a silent prayer at the Port of Beirut, honoring the victims of the devastating 2020 explosion. Afterwards, he celebrated Mass on the Beirut Waterfront, Pope Leo focused on Lebanon being not just a country but a message that embodies unity despite its religious diversity and called for Lebanon to be a home of justice and fraternity and prayed for the peace of this country.
