"The Eyes the War has Taken" is a short documentary that addresses in its general theme the last war waged on Lebanon by Israel in 2024, and in specific the pager operation that according to the international law is considered a war crime and an act of terror. The documentary sheds light on one case between thousands of the pager victims and approaches it from a unique and artistic angle. The case that is documented here is about a young man, that had passion to photo and videography and it was his hobby and work, but his eyes were lost in the attack, and as a hobby and a career that depends basically on the sense of sight the documentary focuses on how he uses his other senses and his imagination to draw a picture of his surroundings and how that enhanced other skills he had, and about the difference between sight and vision, and how his sight lost pushed him into experiencing new ways in photography like analogue photography and what's the philosophical link between them. The documentary seeks finally to show that will and determination can never die, and blindness can be turned into a new form of vision to create art.
