White House of the Confederacy

Constructed in 1818 and seen as the counterpart of the White House in Washington D.C., this was the executive residence of the Confederacy's only President, Jefferson Davis. 

Cold Harbor Battlefield

One of the last battles of General Grant's "Overland Campaign." It is remembered as one of America's bloodiest and most lopsided battles, with Union forces taking more than double the casualties of the South. 

Siege of Petersburg

From June 15 1864-April 2, 1865, the town of Petersburg was under siege.  The Union army surrounded the town due to its strategic location in supplying Richmond, and after 9 Months of trench warfare, Lee retreated, and the Confederate Capitol, Richmond, was taken.



Civil War Museum 

We will visit the site of the Tredger Ironworks which was the largest weapons manufacturing plant in the south during the war and is now converted into a museum.  

Tonight, we will be staying in Midlothian, VA. (Just outside of Richmond, VA.)
