Seen under a different light, we see things that weren’t visible before; what was hidden is revealed. The pandemic created a different condition, a different environment, one where the masks we wear could not always be worn; we were seen in a different light. From the photographer who had time to talk; my parents who didn’t know all the answers; the police sergeant who showed his vulnerability in the squad car; the ambulance drivers that remained silent; the nurse that voiced her annoyance at my paranoid thoughts; Mother Teresa for her steadfast demeanour; my friends who stepped up; and the doctor that ran for the door. We had to face ourselves and others and it is our humanity that shone through and showed us the path that was hidden before.
