Ahti met Anubis as a Pokemon trainer, challenging him for the Dark Gym Badge. Not only did this gym leader beat her, but he was also vulgar. She doesn’t give up and keeps returning to try to beat him, only to fail miserably every time. To change her tactics, she decides to go into the Wildzone in hopes of training and possibly even adding more Pokemon to her team. She runs into Anubis while hiking, and things spiral into a survival expedition where the two need to work together to reach back to civilization.

Ahti looks up to Gwen due to her skill and knowledge in Pokemon breeding. Ahti's also very fond of Gwen because of how gentle, compassionate, and honest she is.

Ahti's motherly caregiving nature kicked in after she got to know Mara. She has a need to take care of her and help her when she can. It helps that Mara makes and sells amazing gelato.
