An IT system called Lifenet was disrupted by the cyberattack. The IT system is a piece of equipment emergency responders use to communicate patient data to hospitals. Strykers Lifenet electrocardiogram transmission system was non-functional. There was no effect on patient care, but some EMS providers paused the use of Lifenet temporarily.

This article explains the wire fraud a 24 year old from Dundee, Scotland committed. the 24 year old, Tyler Robert Buchanan, committed a hacking scheme that stole $8 million dollars worth of virtual currency from people in the U.S. He was able to hack into victims phones by phishing and mimicking a message that came from the victims company. From there, when the victim put in their personal information, the hacker was able to access the virtual wallets and steal from them.
