Information Systems (IS)- An information system is a combination of hardware, software, data, people, and processes. Together, these components collect, store, process, and distribute information so organizations can function, make decisions, and improve performance.
Learning Management System (LMS)- An information system specifically for learning.
User Interface- Point of communication between a person and a machine. Its what you see, hear, say, and touch in order to give instructions to a device or receive information back from it.
Waffle (related to UI)- An icon used for navigation for users. A 3x3 grid icon used to navigate between services, often used to minimize clutter and offer a compact way to access various apps.
Hamburger (related to UI)- 3 horizontal lines used to declutter interfaces. The icon expands, revealing a menu. A type of graphical user interface.
CC- Carbon copy in email. It sends a copy of a message to people other than the primary recipient. To people who are just tracking the conversation or need to be kept in the loop. No reply needed or expected.
BCC- Blind carbon copy. Allows to send messages without revealing their email addresses to others. The silent viewers. This is a good option for sending to a large group without sharing everyone’s email.
Attachment- A file sent to others for viewing or editing, like a document or picture.
Signature file- An E-signature personalized to you (the sender). A text that automatically appears at the bottom of every email you send. Saves you from typing your info each time.
