Machida Aikikai
Introduction
Machida Aikikai (formerly known as Machida City Aikikai) is a non-profit Machida City aikido organization that is a member of the Tokyo Aikido Federation and the Machida City Aikido Federation, and an authorized dojo of the Aikikai Foundation. We meet every Saturday and Sunday at the Second Budo Hall of the Machida Municipal Gymnasium in Naruse, Machida City.

The only consideration for English speakers is to make the TOP PAGE on this introductory site but not translate the site fully.
About half of our members use English at work, so they speak a little more English than you normally feel in Japan. In the past, there have been English speakers practicing, but not anymore.
Aikido is a physical art, so language doesn't matter much, so if you are interested, you should give it a try.

Admission Fee and Membership Fee
Admission fee: 3000 yen *You can do trial lesson a few times before joining.
Monthly membership fee: 2,500 yen (2,000 yen for elementary and junior high school students)
In addition, at the beginning of the financial year (April), a payment for sports insurance (1,000 yen for adults, 500 yen for junior high school students and younger) is required.
Total amount of the insurance is
- 1,850 yen for 64 years old and younger,
- 1,200 yen for 65 years old and older, and
- 800 yen for junior high school students and younger.
1000 yen or 500 yen will be covered by the membership fee.

Trial lesson is always welcome.
We are always happy if you call or email us before you come, as other groups may be training at the same time, and we may change our hours or be closed.
Please come dressed for exercise or wear judo, karate, or aikido wear if you have it.
