About me and contact details

I am originally from the Himalayan state of Sikkim, India. Born in Gangtok, I studied there till class XII, in a serene environment of calm and peace. I am particularly proud of the fact that I am perhaps the first and only (as of July 2018) faculty at an IIT born and brought up in the state of Sikkim.

I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to study and live in three continents exploring different cultures. It has been a life-enriching experience for me. Observing different university settings and pedagogy philosophy has infused in me a deep interest in understanding teaching methods and continuously improve as an educator.

I also care deeply about students suffering from low self-esteem due to poor grades and strive to help them. My story about Ph. D. search and corresponding struggle can be read here
