Hi everyone! I'm Jack. I live in Rhode Island and am studying Aerospace Engineering in a combined Bachelors/Masters program at Worcester Polytechnic Institue. I went to public school for all my regular education before WPI and always found engineering and science classes to be interesting. One of my teachers that lead ‘Design Engineering’ courses really impacted my interests and served as a mentor to me throughout high school helping me get to where I am today. Outside of academic life, I am also a part of Air Force ROTC at WPI and currently am planning to go down the pilot career path. I recently was awarded a small stipend to put towards a private pilots license training program and have begun flying more and am really enjoying it.
My hobbies include snowboarding, hiking, swimming, fishing, and video games. Being from Rhode Island, I’ve spent lots of time at the beach and it is tough to choose if I love the mountains or the beach more. I am definitely a hard working type of person and do not like to leave things unfinished or poorly completed, but I have also learned recently, especially during COVID times, the value of taking a step back for oneself from the day to day grind occasionally. My time at WPI has given me a lot of valuable experiences such as working with and leading the 50 other students in the Air Force ROTC program in addition to the term-long team engineering design projects that have together provided me a strong background to the teamwork dynamic core to this project.
